Description
Andy Warhol was an obsessive documenter of his life and experiences. From the late 1950s until his passing in 1987, he carried a Polaroid camera, capturing an extensive collection of instant photographs. His images featured friends, lovers, patrons, celebrities, unknown individuals, scenic views, fashion, and self-portraits. Created in collaboration with the Andy Warhol Foundation, this book presents more than one hundred of these Polaroid photos. Included are portraits of well-known figures such as Mick Jagger, Alfred Hitchcock, Jack Nicholson, Yves Saint Laurent, Pelé, and Debbie Harry, alongside snapshots of Warhol’s inner circle, social scene, landscapes, and still lifes. Often unfiltered and spontaneous, these Polaroids preserve Warhol’s time much like Instagram does today, offering a rare glimpse into the life, world, and creative vision of the iconic Pop Art figure and modernist pioneer. © The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, Inc.
