Description
Gretchen Miller has always had a reputation for being a tough, independent woman. But even she feels worn down by constant romantic disappointments, and she’s more than ready to swear off dating entirely. When she’s offered a summer position as a dance instructor at Camp Wild Arts, Gretchen eagerly embraces the promise of fresh air, tranquil scenery, and some much-needed peace.
Unfortunately, nature comes with its own pesky irritations, and Gretchen soon learns the biggest nuisance at the camp isn’t mosquitoes—it’s her fellow artist-in-residence, famously cranky rockstar Tennyson “Teddy” Knight. Teddy is known for being arrogant, endlessly frustrating, and undeniably attractive—though Gretchen tries hard to ignore the last part. After enduring his band’s very public split, Teddy isn’t exactly brimming with sunny optimism and is even moodier than usual.
Despite their rocky start, Gretchen soon finds herself warming to the brooding musician and a cautious friendship develops. Before long, she can’t resist the urge to have one final carefree summer romance before officially stepping away from relationships. But as their casual fling deepens into something more meaningful, Gretchen faces an unexpected decision: Is she brave enough to move their summer romance beyond the forest and into the real world?
